Jeff Koons on the Moon

After several delays, artist Koons' 125 tiny terrestrial sculptures were finally sent to the moon this month from Cape Canaveral to Nasa's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The idea, known as 'The Moon Phases Project', was first declared two years ago (2022) and is centred around a grouping of NFTs. Initially, it was planned that the physical works would land on the moon in July 2022, through NFT via Pace Verso, Pace Gallery's NFT platform.

After many attempts, Koons' Moons sculptures were welcomed aboard a Falcon 9 rocket on 14 February 2024.
