The exhibition will include for the first time in London, 120 years after their presentation in Paris, the series that Claude Monet dedicated to the views of the Thames.Begun during just three stays in London between 1899 and 1901, the series depicting Charing Cross Bridge, Waterloo Bridge and the Houses of Parliament was in fact shown in Paris in 1904. Monet wished to exhibit them the following year in the capital crossed by the Thames, but it never happened. To date, there has never been an exhibition in the UK.The exhibition aims to present the paintings that Monet himself selected for audiences in Paris and London, offering visitors the experience of viewing the works that he believed best represented his ambitious artistic endeavor.
