Anselm Kiefer at Palazzo Strozzi: Fallen Angels

Artist : Anselm Kiefer

ANSELM KIEFER at PALAZZO STROZZI

Fallen Angels, the name of Anselm Kiefer's new exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi, Florence.

The exhibition will be open from 22 March until 28 July 2024.

Kiefer (born 8 March 1945 in Donaueschingen) has always investigated the themes of memory, myth, war and existence during his artistic career. These themes are closely linked to the dogmas of man and his history.

He analyses all these themes through various means of expression, which in this case, will dialogue in Florence, specifically with Palazzo Strozzi.

The exhibition, which will also feature new productions by the artist, is curated by the director of the Palazzo: Arturo Galansino.

The intention is to celebrate and restore the great complexity of Kiefer's art, characterised by an interweaving of figure and abstraction, nature and artifice, generation and devastation.

All these "contraries" of grammatical analysis will be present and observable in his works, the viewer will be intellectually and physically involved in the physical and, in this case, conceptual space.
